On Tuesday, June 13, the members of the Weaverville Garden Club will visit two area gardens. The first one is a large dry shade garden, and a wonderfully addressed landscaping challenge for anyone who has to deal with mature trees on their property. The second garden belongs to an experienced gardener and combines edible and native plants on a hilly site. This event is for our membership only and is one of the benefits of joining our little organization. Space is limited so RSVP to Annick Flaxman as soon as possible

Keep Weaverville blooming by dropping off goods you’d like to donate on Friday, May 5th at the Community Center between 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM. We are not accepting clothing. The Garden Club of Weaverville is a nonprofit organization. All donations are tax deductible.
3 – Donate Funds
Make a tax deductible donation to The Garden Club of Weaverville by sending a check to PO BOX 2210, Weaverville, NC 28787.
The Garden Club of Weaverville maintains four flower beds along Main Street in downtown Weaverville and creates the wreaths to decorate the fire station, Town Hall and other buildings for the holidays. The next time you’re in town, stroll through the Main Street Nature Park. Relax on one of the benches and enjoy the sculpture donated by the Garden Club. Each year we volunteer hundreds of hours to work in the wildflower garden and other areas. Proceeds from the Rummage Sale supports this project and many more the Garden Club is involved with throughout town.
The Garden Club is an organization open to everyone. It meets the second Tuesday of each month at 9:30 AM in the Weaverville Town Hall Community Room at 30 S. Main Street. Monthly programs are FREE and open to the public. Please join us to learn more about gardening in North Carolina. Join other members in a hypertufa workshop – the technique of combining cement, perlite, water (and other materials) to form structures that are lighter weight than concrete and easy to shape. Click on links below: 
By taking a workshop with an experienced teacher, you get a “tried and true” hypertufa recipe that works. If you make it too thin or thick, or have difficulties with the technique, the teacher is present to guide you through the process. And, you leave with a finished product. Main Street Nature Park Workday
Our next two workdays in the Park will be on Saturday June 11th and Saturday July 9th from 10 AM-Noon. Meet at the parking area along Pine Street armed with gloves, water, diggers, and hand clippers. On the 11th, rakes for spreading mulch will also be useful. For additional information about Conservation Board activities, contact wwhabitat@gmail.com.
“Wings of Life” Video Shown
On June 28th 6:30 PM at the Weaverville Library, Jill Totman will introduce the acclaimed Disney film 
“Wings of Life.” Narrated by Meryl Streep, the documentary highlights the importance of pollination to the world’s food supply. Like most nature documentaries, Wings of Life is visually spectacular. The cinematography captures in breathtaking detail the ways in which pollinators and their colorful host flowers interact. Even basic close-ups of Monarch butterflies or hungry hummingbirds are startlingly beautiful.
