Program Topic: Growing Lavender & Hydrangeas

 

The 1st meeting of our 2018-2019 season is on
Tuesday, September 11th at 9:30 a. m.
In the Weaverville Town Hall Community Room

Two of the garden Pros from Reems Creek Nursery will be speaking on the selection and successful cultivation of lavenders and hydrangeas in our area.

Tanya Lacorte, their Perennial Buyer, will cover Lavenders:

  • Choosing the best varieties for your site
  • Cultivation tips
  • How and when to harvest/prune

Matt Timmer, their Green Goods Manager, will cover Hydrangeas:

  • Choosing the best varieties for your site
  • Soil amending for color and plant health
  • Light requirements for each of the 4 main types of hydrangea:
  • Smooth, Oakleaf, Mophead, and Panicle
  • Pruning tips for each variety

A representative from Reems Creek Nursery will teach us everything weneed to know to attract butterflies to our gardens.
*They will also have some interesting plants for sale.

All Garden Club of Weaverville programs and business meetings are FREE and open to the public.  Programs start at 9:30 AM the second Tuesday of each month in the Community Room of the Weaverville Town Hall, 30 South Main Street, Weaverville, NC unless otherwise noted on our website or member email.
