Chris Davenport, from Reems Creek Nursery, will share his experience and insights regarding how to make your garden a year-round haven for birds.  He will  discuss the types of plants and habitats that will attract beneficial birds to your garden and how to create and maintain a bird-friendly environment.

Before joining Reems Creek Nursery, Chris spent 14 years with Head-Lee Nursery in Seneca, SC; five years with Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA; and two years with the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Chris is an avid home gardener and bird watcher. He loves to travel with his family to view cultivated gardens and explore untrampled wilderness.

June Meeting – Gardening Tips, Q&A and Plant Exchange

We hope you will join
The Garden Club of Weaverville
for Our June 2023 Meeting

Tuesday, June 13th at 9:30 on the covered porch at the new Weaverville Community Center

Program: Gardening Tips, Q&A and Plant Exchange

Please bring your gardening wisdom and plants (or a list of plants) you would like to share to this interactive meeting.

  • A brief business meeting will precede the interactive program.
  • Instead of having a formal presentation this month we will informally share useful gardening tips & have the opportunity to seek advice from fellow gardeners. After the discussion forum, we will focus on sharing the bounty of our gardens and enjoying being together.
    •  Bring plants to share, or a list of the plants that you’d like to share.
      • Each person with plants to share will briefly tell the group about what they have to share.
      • Please label plants if possible. If a cultivar, try to include the name of the variety. (Ex: Echinacea ‘Tomato Soup’)
      • Please don’t share plants on the Western NC Invasive plant list
      • Please go around the outside of the building to take your plants to the patio.
