Dry shade, anyone?

The grass is calamagrostis (diamond grass), ‘Autumn Joy’ sedum, and the dried heads of hydrangea ‘Vaughn’s Lillie’. There’s also some catmint at the base.

Pink primrose

Native primrose in bloomI love this primrose that grows so well in our area. They are vigorous and transplant easily. They show such enthusiasm even in drought that I enjoy letting them spread. This is one of my favorites, but I do cut them back after blooming since they get straggly and unattractive. Not to worry – they bounce back next spring.
