The Garden Club of Weaverville June Meeting included a Tour of Blue Ridge Daylilies, 872 Lower Flat Creek Rd , Alexander Tuesday, June 23.
Owner, Robert Selman, gave a brief talk prior to our self-guided tour. Directly following tour we will head over to Diane and Ellis Hall’s home for a potluck lunch. Please bring something to share with group. After potluck we had our final business meeting for the season.
Colleen and Pat announced that there will be a Garden Club of Weaverville Dirt Diggin’ Day event on Saturday, April 22nd at 9 am. Meet at the Weaverville clock. They are planting to plant annuals in the flower beds and do any weeding that is necessary. Bring appropriate tools and water.
Please gather at 11:30 at Lake Louise and bring your own picnic. We have a table and covered area (the largest one closest to Merrimon Avenue from Townhall). We have the reservation until 1:30, which should be amply sufficient for our meal together and the business/voting meeting. It comes so quickly, but we are about to elect new officers for 2015 – 2016. Please contact our Co-Presidents, Diane and Janet, if you are interested in running for any of these fun positions! We will celebrate our wonderful year of sharing, gardening, learning, and laughter!
Our spring beautification project for the Town of Weaverville will continue on Tuesday, April 21, at 9 AM. All members and anyone else who is interested please meet at the downtown clock to see where help is needed for the several beds we maintain on Main Street.
Please bring your gardening tools, we’ll need several shovels to make removing the plants and bulbs go quickly, watering cans, hat, gloves and your water bottle.
